Sydney Fiji Princess Cruise September 2018
Noumea to Suva
Day 5 Wednesday 19
th September 2018
Mystery Island Vanuatu
Arrived and anchored just off the Island by 7:30am, had breakfast and left to board tender at 9:15am, Anne took walker but tracks were too sandy so she had done 5000 steps by time we arrived back for lunch.
The Island is called Mystery Island because during the war the Americans built an airfield and it was a mystery to the Japanese where the planes came from.
Deserted Mystery Island but still had mobile phone towers
New wharf above compared to the 2013 wharf below.
Stairs to the Tender
Left the walker at the jetty as sand was too soft
Airstrip
Three hours walking and sitting was long enough for Anne so we joined a short queue and returned home.
After a light lunch Anne had her SCAN while Kevin went back to Mystery Island. He took 35 minutes to circumnavigate the Island in a clockwise direction.
5 Star dunnies on the other side of the Island
Decided to have a Pizza tonight.
Island special for lunch
Tender back to the ship

Morning coffee in the Vines Bar
Photo above shows those that persevered longer than I did at juggling.
A comment to Kevin, do not run away to the Circus
$AU5 for pictures with the lizards
Smartest business model on the Island
Went exploring while Anne had SCAN, found muffins, coffee, icecream and horse racing.
Room Service a la carte by Kevin
Kevin's eye caught a never seen before item on the program, "Baileys Tasting and Sale", too busy sampling to take any pictures.
Dinner and the Captain's Circle meeting with the Captain and some of the Captain Circle Club members. Most travelled passengers on this cruise were from Arizona with 131 cruises over 1,220 days, second from Port Macquarie with 104 cruises over 1,026 days, and third from Adelaide with 58 cruises and 881 days. We are a long way behind the leaders with 307 days
There are 661 passengers at our Elite membership with the free washing.
Guess who won one of the three bottles of Champagne door prizes?
Day 7 Friday 21
st September 2018
Suva Fiji
Glad there is no breathalyser on board as I had to push the wheelchair home.
Kevin went ashore to check the lay of the land, loved the sight of the old ship that was docking behind us.
Anne took the chariot for a run, limited to a kilometer along the foreshore as there were no usable ramps, the kerbside was quite high and the path finished.
Note the confiscated food opposite, every port we are told not to remove food from the ship, today they checked our bags as we left at 9:30am.
Back on ship for our coffee
Disappointing Suva is so wheelchair unfriendly.
After coffee we went exploring the ship and I hope you did not notice the ham and cheese croissants.
After no lunch we decided to tackle the Holleywood pool that has steps in and test the waterproof camera.
And naturally you have to have an icecream after a swim
