Day 85 Saturday 12th August 2017 At SeaTop of page
Captain announced weather was looking better before we went to bed and we would leave earlier than the 6am planned. Left at 12pm Friday and as the map insert shows went NW then SW to avoid some of the rough seas.
Bit rough this morning, that’s the sea and my cards, do not play “loosing all tricks” here.
Formal night and fantastic production show with the singers and dancers.
Breakfast, cards, coffee but Anne has today dropped out of choir for this sector.
Pizza for lunch with Tony and Julie, Anne with power wheelchair till SCAN time.
Kevin went to the Dolly Parton tribute but left after the second song neither one he know, why do these performers not start with popular ones like 9 to 5
Dark again to 8am, sunrise 8:45am, at breakfast we could see the lights on Easter Island. We are lucky to be the one in four ships that manage to get ashore, but tender is slow because of the narrow channel and the swell, at 11am they asked passengers not to join the tender ticket queue as there were 500 waiting.
Kevin decides to stay on board.
This was as close as we got this time, zoomed from our balcony, you can see how large the Moai are from the people standing around them.
Ship to ourselves today, made the right decision to stay on board, tender loading was slow and rough.
Away by 7:30pm, delayed as last tenders found it difficult to dock back at the ship. Balconies on our side were full of passengers watching the tenders trying to return.
Clocks back an hour tonight, now 16 hours behind Sydney.
